Product Description
This 3-dimensional image of the face of "The Man of The Shroud of Turin" has been produced from information within the image on the linen of the Shroud itself. It is the result of scientific research conducted by Dr. Petrus Soons who had the orginal idea to produce holographic images from The Shroud. Bringing together a team of experts to work upon the 1931 photographs of Giuseppe Enrié, they succeeded in converting a 2D negative into 3D. With this material we were able to produce lenticulars of various sizes as the one that you now contemplate. Each lenticular comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
"This icon of Christ abandoned in the dramatic and solemn state of death, which for centuries has been the subject of significant representations and for 100 years, thanks to photography, has been so frequently reproduced, urges us to go to the heart of the mystery of life and death, to discover the great and consoling message it has left us. The Shroud shows us Jesus at the moment of his greatest helplessness and reminds us that in the abasement of that death lies the salvation of the whole world. The Shroud thus becomes an invitation to face every experience, including that of suffering and extreme helplessness, with the attitude of those who believe that God's merciful love overcomes every poverty, every limitation. and every temptation to despair." Pope John Paul II, May 24, 1998
